Tap the product, then the problem. The fix is usually one step.
Miswak sticks
Original · Mint · Clove · Coconut · Variety — 2, 6, 12 and 16-stick packs
What’s wrong?
It feels rough or scratchy on my gums
The tip wasn’t softened. Peel 1 cm of bark, then chew the end (or soak it in water for a few minutes) until the fibres fluff into a soft brush. Brush with light pressure — the fibres do the work. This fixes it for almost everyone.
The stick arrived dry, hard or thin
Normal for a sealed stick — it’s cut wood, kept dry on purpose so it doesn’t mould. Soak the tip in water for 5–10 minutes before first use and it softens. If a stick is cracked, split or mouldy, that’s on us: send a photo below and we’ll replace the pack.
It tastes bitter, peppery or strange
That’s the natural taste of Salvadora persica, strongest in the first few uses and fading within days. If you don’t like it, the Mint, Clove or Coconut versions are gentler.
My gums are sore or bled a little
Almost always pressure. Short, light strokes along the gumline, and trim a fresh tip every 2–3 days so it never gets stiff. If it hasn’t settled after a week, stop and check with your dentist.
The bristles fray or the stick is used up quickly
Expected. One stick lasts 1–2 weeks with twice-daily use. Snip off the used fibres every 2–3 days to expose fresh wood; it’s finished when it’s too short to hold comfortably.
It went mouldy or smells off
Moisture after opening. Rinse the tip, shake it dry and stand it upright in open air — never seal a damp stick in a bag or case. Keep unopened sticks in their vacuum pack. If a stick was mouldy when you opened it, send a photo below and we’ll replace it.
How to use
- Peel 1 cm of bark from one end.
- Soften the tip — chew or soak until the fibres separate.
- Brush gently along the gumline. No water or toothpaste needed.
- Rinse, trim, air-dry. Trim every 2–3 days.
Breath strips / Mouthwash Tablets
Peppermint · Spearmint · Mint · Strawberry · Watermelon — 12 packs × 20 strips
What’s wrong?
The strips are stuck together in a block
Heat in transit or an open pack in a warm bag. Leave the pack at room temperature (not the fridge or freezer) and peel from the corner — they usually separate. If a whole box arrived fused, send a photo below and we’ll replace it.
It stuck to the roof of my mouth and went gummy
Placement. Lay the strip flat on your tongue and let it dissolve on its own. Don’t chew it or press it upwards. Dry fingers help too — a damp finger starts it dissolving before it’s in your mouth.
The flavour is weaker than I expected
These are sugar-free and gentle by design. Peppermint is the strongest of the five; Strawberry and Watermelon are the mildest. If you want more kick, Peppermint is the one.
I got a different flavour or fewer packs than ordered
Our mistake, sorry. Send a photo of the box and what’s inside using the form below and we’ll send the right one out — no need to return anything.
My breath still isn’t fresh for long
Strips freshen, they don’t cure. Persistent bad breath usually comes from tongue coating or a dry mouth. Cleaning the tongue and drinking more water does more than any strip can; if it persists, a dentist can find the cause.
How to use
- Open with dry hands, slide one strip out from the edge.
- Lay it flat on your tongue and let it dissolve.
- Close the pack fully. Store below 25 °C / 77 °F.
Henna — body-art cones & hair colour powder
Cones: Reddish Brown · Cherry | Powder: Pure Red · Deep Brown · Soft Black (henna + indigo) | Starter Kit — all PPD-free
Patch test 24 hours before every first use. A pea of paste on the inner forearm, dry, scrape off, wait 24 hours. Any redness, itching or burning: wash off and don’t use.
What’s wrong?
The stain came out orange, not brown
Orange is correct on day one. Natural henna oxidises to reddish brown over 24–48 hours. Leave the paste on longer (2–4 hours on skin), keep it warm, scrape it off dry instead of washing, and avoid water for 12–24 hours for a deeper result.
The colour is weak or faded fast
On skin: lotion, oil or sunscreen blocks the stain — apply to clean, dry skin. On hair: the paste wasn’t rested. Mix it, then wait 6–12 hours before applying; that’s when the dye releases. Hair must be free of conditioner and styling product.
The cone is dry, hard or won’t flow
Warm it in your hands or in a cup of warm (not hot) water for 5 minutes, and snip a slightly larger opening. If the paste is dried out or crumbly when first opened, send a photo below and we’ll replace it.
It won’t cover my grey hair / go dark
Henna can’t lighten and on grey reads copper. For brown-to-near-black on grey you need two steps: henna first, rinse, then indigo. One-step pastes promising instant black in under an hour aren’t plant henna — they usually contain PPD.
My skin is red, itchy or blistering
Wash it off now with cool water and mild soap and don’t reapply. If it spreads or blisters, see a doctor. Our henna is PPD-free, but no product suits every skin — that’s why the patch test matters. Tell us below; we’ll refund the product.
How to use — cones
- Snip a pin-sized tip. Clean, lotion-free skin.
- Hold like a pen at 45°, lay a thin rope of paste down as you move.
- Leave 2–4 hours, scrape off dry. No water for 12–24 hours.
How to use — powder
- Mix in a non-metal bowl with warm water, tea or coffee to a yoghurt consistency.
- Rest 6–12 hours.
- Apply to clean hair, cap it, leave 2–3 hours, rinse with water only. Judge the colour after 48 hours.
